GOSPEL LESSON: John 15:1–8 1“I am the true vine, and my Father is the vinedresser. 2Every branch of mine that does not bear fruit he takes away, and every branch that does bear fruit he prunes, that it may bear more fruit. 3Already you are clean because of the word that I have spoken to you. 4Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me. 5I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing. 6If anyone does not abide in me he is thrown away like a branch and withers; and the branches are gathered, thrown into the fire, and burned. 7If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. 8By this my Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit and so prove to be my disciples.

福 音 書 ヨ　ハ　ネ 15: 1- 8 15:1 「わたしはまことのぶどうの木、わたしの父は農夫である。 15:2 わたしにつながっていながら、実を結ばない枝はみな、父が取り除かれる。しかし、実を結ぶものはみな、いよいよ豊かに実を結ぶように手入れをなさる。 15:3 わたしの話した言葉によって、あなたがたは既に清くなっている。 15:4 わたしにつながっていなさい。わたしもあなたがたにつながっている。ぶどうの枝が、木につながっていなければ、自分では実を結ぶことができないように、あなたがたも、わたしにつながっていなければ、実を結ぶことができない。 15:5 わたしはぶどうの木、あなたがたはその枝である。人がわたしにつながっており、わたしもその人につながっていれば、その人は豊かに実を結ぶ。わたしを離れては、あなたがたは何もできないからである。 15:6 わたしにつながっていない人がいれば、枝のように外に投げ捨てられて枯れる。そして、集められ、火に投げ入れられて焼かれてしまう。 15:7 あなたがたがわたしにつながっており、わたしの言葉があなたがたの内にいつもあるならば、望むものを何でも願いなさい。そうすればかなえられる。 15:8 あなたがたが豊かに実を結び、わたしの弟子となるなら、それによって、わたしの父は栄光をお受けになる。

FIRST LESSON: Acts 8:26-40 26Now an angel of the Lord said to Philip, “Rise and go toward the south to the road that goes down from Jerusalem to Gaza.” This is a desert place. 27And he rose and went. And there was an Ethiopian, a eunuch, a court official of Candace, queen of the Ethiopians, who was in charge of all her treasure. He had come to Jerusalem to worship 28and was returning, seated in his chariot, and he was reading the prophet Isaiah. 29And the Spirit said to Philip, “Go over and join this chariot.” 30So Philip ran to him and heard him reading Isaiah the prophet and asked, “Do you understand what you are reading?” 31And he said, “How can I, unless someone guides me?” And he invited Philip to come up and sit with him. 32Now the passage of the Scripture that he was reading was this: “Like a sheep he was led to the slaughter and like a lamb before its shearer is silent, so he opens not his mouth. 33In his humiliation justice was denied him. Who can describe his generation? For his life is taken away from the earth.” 34And the eunuch said to Philip, “About whom, I ask you, does the prophet say this, about himself or about someone else?” 35Then Philip opened his mouth, and beginning with this Scripture he told him the good news about Jesus. 36And as they were going along the road they came to some water, and the eunuch said, “See, here is water! What prevents me from being baptized?” 38And he commanded the chariot to stop, and they both went down into the water, Philip and the eunuch, and he baptized him. 39And when they came up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord carried Philip away, and the eunuch saw him no more, and went on his way rejoicing. 40But Philip found himself at Azotus, and as he passed through he preached the gospel to all the towns until he came to Caesarea.

第一日課 使徒言行録 8:26-40 8:26 さて、主の天使はフィリポに、「ここをたって南に向かい、エルサレムからガザへ下る道に行け」と言った。そこは寂しい道である。 8:27 フィリポはすぐ出かけて行った。折から、エチオピアの女王カンダケの高官で、女王の全財産の管理をしていたエチオピア人の宦官が、エルサレムに礼拝に来て、 8:28 帰る途中であった。彼は、馬車に乗って預言者イザヤの書を朗読していた。 8:29 すると、“霊”がフィリポに、「追いかけて、あの馬車と一緒に行け」と言った。 8:30 フィリポが走り寄ると、預言者イザヤの書を朗読しているのが聞こえたので、「読んでいることがお分かりになりますか」と言った。 8:31 宦官は、「手引きしてくれる人がなければ、どうして分かりましょう」と言い、馬車に乗ってそばに座るようにフィリポに頼んだ。 8:32 彼が朗読していた聖書の個所はこれである。 「彼は、羊のように屠り場に引かれて行った。毛を刈る者の前で黙している小羊のように、／口を開かない。 8:33 卑しめられて、その裁きも行われなかった。だれが、その子孫について語れるだろう。彼の命は地上から取り去られるからだ。」 8:34 宦官はフィリポに言った。「どうぞ教えてください。預言者は、だれについてこう言っているのでしょうか。自分についてですか。だれかほかの人についてですか。」 8:35 そこで、フィリポは口を開き、聖書のこの個所から説きおこして、イエスについて福音を告げ知らせた。 8:36 道を進んで行くうちに、彼らは水のある所に来た。宦官は言った。「ここに水があります。洗礼を受けるのに、何か妨げがあるでしょうか。」 8:37 ＊フィリポが、「真心から信じておられるなら、差し支えありません」と言うと、宦官は、「イエス・キリストは神の子であると信じます」と答えた。 8:38 そして、車を止めさせた。フィリポと宦官は二人とも水の中に入って行き、フィリポは宦官に洗礼を授けた。 8:39 彼らが水の中から上がると、主の霊がフィリポを連れ去った。宦官はもはやフィリポの姿を見なかったが、喜びにあふれて旅を続けた。 8:40 フィリポはアゾトに姿を現した。そして、すべての町を巡りながら福音を告げ知らせ、カイサリアまで行った。

In the kid’s message, we talked about being connected to Jesus. 子供のメッセージの中で、イエス様とつながれる事について話しました。 Since we are not farmers and do not know much about grapevines and branches, we talked about how God is like an electric plug-in. 私達が農場に住まないので、ブドウの木とその枝についてよく分かりません。それで神様が電気のコンセントのようであると話しました。 And just like an appliance, in order to work, must remain connected to the electric power, so we must also remain connected to God. 電気製品と同じように、働く為に、電気の源につなげなければならないように、私達も神様とつながっていなければなりません。 We have to be connected to the source of power in order to have fruit in our lives. 自分の人生の中で実を結ぶ為に、力の源に接続されていることが必要です。 We also talked how evangelism and mission is like using a long extension cord to go to far away places to bring the Gospel of Jesus and his love to others, so that they too can have salvation. 又、教会の伝道は、長い延長コード線のようです。それで遠い所まで、イエス様の福音と愛を他の人に持って行く事が出来ます。それでその人も救われるためです。 There is only one place to ultimately plug into, because there is only one road to heaven, only one source of salvation. 何故ならば、救いのコンセントが一つしかありません。天国への道がただ一つです。救いの源がただ一つです。 That is the cross of Jesus. それはイエス様の十字架です。 Using nails, Jesus was connected to the cross, therefore the cross has power to save. 釘によって、イエス様が十字架につながれていました。ですから十字架には救いの力があります。 He was killed. イエス様が殺されました。 His energy left him. 彼の力が出ました。 But in the resurrection, he has the power of life, eternal life. しかし、復活によって、彼には命の力があり、永遠の命があります。 How do we plug into Jesus? どのように私達がイエス様と接続されるでしょうか。It is when we believe in Jesus as our savior. それは、私達がイエス様を自分の救い主であると信じる時です。 The Holy Spirit gives us the power to believe and the power to live the life of a Christian. 聖霊は私達に信じる為の力を与え、クリスチャンとして生きる為の力をも下さいます。 The fruit or work of the appliance comes from the energy. 電気製品の働きは電力から来ます。Our good deeds or our love for others come from the Holy Spirit. 　私達の良い働き、私達の他の人の為の愛は聖霊から来ます。 Or in other words, we are not saved by our good deeds, but we do good deeds because we are saved.　言い換えますと、私達が良い業をするから救われるのではなく、私達が救われているので、良い業をします。

So the important thing is to be connected to God. ですから、大切なのは、神様につながれる事です。 The important thing is to have the right connection. よいコネは大切です。 This is important for many things. 多くのものの為に大切です。 For example, when we want to understand a problem or something, we must understand how things are related to each other. 例えば、問題を解決したいと思う時、いろいろのものの関係を理解する事が必要です。 Last week was Earth Day. 先週は緑の日でした。 When we start to understand ecology we realize that everything is connected, and ultimately connected to God the Creator of heaven and earth. 自然の環境が分かる為に、すべての物がほかのすべての物と、つながれている事が分かって、結局、すべてが天地を創造された神様につながれていると分かってきます。 When we want to get to know someone, we ask about the connections that they have with other people, like their family or job or friends or church. 私達が他の人を知りたいと思いましたら、その人の他の人との関係を聞きます。家族、仕事、友達、教会などです。The same is true when we want to understand the Bible.　聖書を知りたいと思いましたら同じです。

In Acts Chapter Eight, there is the story of an Ethiopian court official who was reading the Bible while seated in his chariot on the long ride home from Jerusalem. 使徒言行録8章にはエチオピアの女王カンダケの高官は、馬車に乗って、遠い国に帰りながら、聖書を読みました。 He believed in God but was having trouble understanding the words of Isaiah because he could not see the proper connection. 彼は神様を信じましたが、預言者イザヤの言葉を理解するのが難しいと思いました。何故ならば、正しいコネクションが見えなかったからです。 And so he asked Philip if the words were connected to the prophet himself or to someone else. それでフィリポに聞くのは、この言葉が預言者自身とつながっているのか、又別の人につながれているかと聞きました。 And then Philip told him how this passage was connected to Jesus Christ. それで、フィリポは、この聖書の箇所がどのようにイエス・キリストにつながれているかと説明しました。

★ “Like a sheep he was led to the slaughter and like a lamb before its shearer is silent, so he opens not his mouth. 33In his humiliation justice was denied him. Who can describe his generation? For his life is taken away from the earth.”

★ 「彼は、羊のように屠り場に引かれて行った。毛を刈る者の前で黙している小羊のように、口を開かない。8:33 卑しめられて、その裁きも行われなかった。だれが、その子孫について語れるだろう。彼の命は地上から取り去られるからだ。」

Jesus fulfilled this prophecy. イエス様はこの予言を成就(じょうじゅ)しました。 Jesus was led to the cross. イエス様が十字架の所に連れて来こられました。 There Jesus willingly died as a sacrificial lamb in order to save people. イエス様は自由に、喜んで、人を救う為に犠牲として死にました。 Then Philip showed the Ethiopian how the whole Old Testament was connected to Jesus. フィリポはエチオピア人に、旧約聖書全体がどのようにイエス様と、繋がっているかを説明しました。 He told him the gospel, the good news about Jesus. イエス様についての福音、良い知らせを告げ知らせました。

And then the Ethiopian understood that God wanted to be connected to him in a personal way. その時、エチオピア人に分かってきたのは、神様はご自身とつなげたいと望んでおられる事です。 He had faith in Jesus, he believed the good news, and he wanted to be connected to Jesus. 彼はイエス様に対する信仰があり、福音を信じて、イエス様と繋がりたいと思いました。

★ 36And as they were going along the road they came to some water, and the eunuch said, “See, here is water! What prevents me from being baptized?” 38And he commanded the chariot to stop, and they both went down into the water, Philip and the eunuch, and he baptized him. 39And when they came up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord carried Philip away, and the eunuch saw him no more, and went on his way rejoicing.

★ 8:36 道を進んで行くうちに、彼らは水のある所に来た。宦官は言った。「ここに水があります。洗礼を受けるのに、何か妨げがあるでしょうか。」8:37 ＊フィリポが、「真心から信じておられるなら、差し支えありません」と言うと、宦官は、「イエス・キリストは神の子であると信じます」と答えた。8:38 そして、車を止めさせた。フィリポと宦官は二人とも水の中に入って行き、フィリポは宦官に洗礼を授けた。8:39 彼らが水の中から上がると、主の霊がフィリポを連れ去った。宦官はもはやフィリポの姿を見なかったが、喜びにあふれて旅を続けた。

He went on his way rejoicing. 喜びにあふれて旅を続けました。 This is the life connected to Jesus. これこそはイエス様とつながれている人生です。According to the tradition of the church in Ethiopia, he was the first missionary to Africa to take the Gospel message to that end of the world. 古い言い伝えによりますと、この人がエチオピアに最初に福音を伝えた人であると、エチオピアの教会は説明します。 He went on his way rejoicing. 喜びにあふれて旅を続けました。 This is the life connected to Jesus. これこそはイエス様とつながれている人生です。 This is our life.　私たちの人生も同様です。Let’s go on our way rejoicing! 喜びに溢れて人生を続けましょう。
