復活祭、2017年4月16日

さて、安息日が終わって、週の初めの日の明け方に、マグダラのマリアともう一人のマリアが、墓を見に行った。2 すると、大きな地震が起こった。主の天使が天から降って近寄り、石をわきへ転がし、その上に座ったのである。3 その姿は稲妻のように輝き、衣は雪のように白かった。4 番兵たちは、恐ろしさのあまり震え上がり、死人のようになった。

Hallelujah! Christ is Risen! He is Risen, Indeed! Hallelujah! ハレルヤ！キリストは復活しました！本当に主は復活しました！ハレルヤ！

Happy Easter! ハッピー・イースター！

Easter is happy because, first, Jesus our Good Friend who had died has risen from the dead. イースターがハッピーであるのは、先ず、私達の良い友達であるイエス様が甦られたからです。 Second, because Jesus our Champion who fights for us has been victorious over the devil and so we are saved from death and hell. 更に、私達の為に戦う、私達のチャンピオンであるイエス様は悪魔に勝ちましたので、私達は死と地獄から救われています。 Thirdly, because in the death of Jesus our Savior on the cross our sins have been forgiven and now we are acceptable to God. 又、私達の救い主であるイエス様の十字架上での死の為に私達の罪が赦されているので、神様が私達を受け入れて下さいます。 And fourthly, Easter is happy because just as Jesus our Redeemer rose from the dead on the third day, we too shall rise from the dead on the Last Day. イースターがハッピーであるのは、私達の購い主であるイエス様が３日目に甦ったので、私達も最後の日に復活します。

Hallelujah! ハレルヤ！

The women came to the tomb early in the morning on the first day of the week, and so we Christians come to church on Sunday morning, the first day of the week. 女の人達は週の初めの日の明け方に、墓に行ったので、私達クリスチャンが週の初めの日、日曜日の朝ごとに教会に来ます。 And so each Sunday in church is like a little Easter celebration. それで、毎週日曜日は小さな復活祭になります。

Today we read the Easter story from Matthew 28. 今日、マタイ２８章からイースターの話を読みました。 My favorite verse in this passage is verse 2. この箇所の中に、私の好きな言葉は２節です。 “There was a violent earthquake, for an angel of the Lord came down from heaven and, going to the tomb, rolled back the stone and sat on it.” 「すると、大きな地震が起こった。主の天使が天から降って近寄り、石をわきへ転がし、その上に座ったのである。《 I am curious of why the angel sat on the stone after rolling it back. どうして天使が石をわきへ転がした後に、その上に座ったでしょうかと上思議に思います。 I can think of a number of possibilities. いくつかの説明を考えられます。 Perhaps the angel was tired after the long flight from heaven and rolling back the heavy stone and so needed to sit down and rest? もしかしたら、遠い天国から飛んで来て、重い石を動かしたので、疲れて、座って休んだでしょうか。 Hardly. 確かに、そうではないでしょう。 More likely, perhaps it was to prevent the guards from rolling the stone back over the entrance to the grave. もしかしたら、その上に座ったら、番兵達は再びお墓の前に石を元の所に戻さない為でしょうか。 The door of the tomb must remain open so that the women and disciples could see that it was empty, proof that Jesus had risen. お墓のドアを開けておく事が必要でした。女達と弟子達が中を見て、空っぽであると見る為でした。それがイエス様の復活の証拠であるからです。 Perhaps the angel sat on the stone so that he would not be so frightful when the women came. もうしかしたら、石の上に座りましたら、女達が来る時、恐ろしくないように見えるでしょう。 He would look more calm and relaxed, even though “his appearance was like lightning, and his clothes were white as snow.” もっとリラクスして、静かでしょう。しかし、「その姿は稲妻のように輝き、衣は雪のように白かった《のです。

I am going to suggest one more reason why the angel sat on the stone. どうして天使が石の上に座ったか、もう一つの理由を提案します。It was because he had something important to say. 即ち、これから大切な事を話すからです。 When we have an important message to tell, we usually stand. 私達の場合、大切な事を話す時、私達は立ちます。 But in the New Testament, when Jesus proclaims the Gospel, he sits. しかし、新約聖書の中には、イエス様が福音を述べ伝える時、イエス様が座ります。 He sat when he gave the Sermon on the Mount. 山の上の説教の時、イエス様は座りました。 He also sat at table when he talked about the Kingdom of God in someone’s home. 誰かの家に行く時、食卓の所に座って神の国について話しました。 Likewise the Last Supper and when he preached in the synagogue. 最後の晩餐もそうでした、また、会同で話す時でした。 When kings make official proclamations, they sit on thrones. 王様は正式な宣言をする時、王座に座ります。When judges pass judgments, they sit behind the bench, 裁判官も前の方に座ります。Jesus sits at the right hand of God the Father. イエス様は父なる神様の右に座ります。 And so in the same way, the angel sits on the stone to show that he has something very important to say. それで、同じように、話す内容がとっても大切な事であると表す為に、天使が石の上に座ります。 He proclaims that Jesus had risen from the grave. 述べ伝えるのは、イエス様がお墓から復活した事です。 He tells the women to take a good look at the place where Jesus had been laid, to see that the grave is empty, and then tells them to tell the disciples the Good News. 『イエス様の寝かされた場所をよく調べなさい。お墓が空っぽであるとよく見なさい。弟子達にその良い知らせを伝えなさい』と言いました。

The angel has the same message for us today, too. その天使は今日、私達にも同じメッセージを言います。 The angel messenger is not still sitting on the rock, but messengers through out the world on this day are sitting and standing and proclaiming the same Gospel message: その天使のメッセンジャーはまだ石の上に座っていませんが、この日に、全世界に、多くの他のメッセンジャーは座ったり立ったり、同じ福音のメッセージを述べ伝えます： “Hallelujah! Christ was crucified, but now is Risen! He is Risen, Indeed!” 『ハレルヤ！十字架上で殺されたキリストは、今復活しました！本当に復活しました！』 And these messengers are telling what it means. そして、このメッセンジャー達はその意味も述べ伝えます。 It means that death is not the final answer. 即ち、死ぬ事は最後の事ではない事です。 Christ gives us life. キリストは私達に命を与えるからです。 Even if we die, we shall rise with Christ. 私達が死んでも、私達はキリストと共に復活するからです。 Even if we are in danger, Christ knows what danger is and will be with us. 私達に危険があっても、キリストは危険の事を知るので、キリストは私達と共にいます。 Even if there are problems in our lives, Christ who suffered and died knows what life problems are like and will be with us. 私達の人生には問題がっても、苦しみを受けて死んだキリストは人生の問題は何のものか分かるので、私達と共にいます。 Even if we feel guilt and defeat and failure, the Cross and Resurrection shows that Jesus knows how to forgive and overcome guilt and defeat and failure. 自分の罪や失望や失敗を感じても、イエス様の十字架と復活が教えるのは、罪や失敗と失望などを赦して乗り越える方法です。 And Jesus will be with us. そしてイエス様は私達と共にいます。

The angel opened the door of the tomb and showed that Jesus was not in there. 天使はお墓のドアを開けて、イエス様がその中にはいないと見せました。 He is not there, he is here with us. もうあそこにいないで、ここに私達と共にいるからです。 Jesus is not dead, he is alive and he is with us. イエス様は死んでいないで、生きていて私達と共にいます。 He is in our worship, our prayers, in the sacrament, and every moment of our lives. 私達の礼拝の中、私達の祈りの中、聖餐式の中、私達の人生のすべての中です。

Hallelujah! Christ is Risen! He is Risen, Indeed! Hallelujah!

ハレルヤ！キリストは復活しました！本当に主は復活しました！ハレルヤ！
