Ephesians 6:10–20 10Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. 11Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. 12For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. 13Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm. 14Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15and, as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace. 16In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one; 17and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God, 18praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints, 19and also for me, that words may be given to me in opening my mouth boldly to proclaim the mystery of the gospel, 20for which I am an ambassador in chains, that I may declare it boldly, as I ought to speak. |
エフェソ6:10-20 6:10 最後に言う。主に依り頼み、その偉大な力によって強くなりなさい。6:11 悪魔の策略に対抗して立つことができるように、神の武具を身に着けなさい。6:12 わたしたちの戦いは、血肉を相手にするものではなく、支配と権威、暗闇の世界の支配者、天にいる悪の諸霊を相手にするものなのです。6:13 だから、邪悪な日によく抵抗し、すべてを成し遂げて、しっかりと立つことができるように、神の武具を身に着けなさい。6:14 立って、真理を帯として腰に締め、正義を胸当てとして着け、6:15 平和の福音を告げる準備を履物としなさい。6:16 なおその上に、信仰を盾として取りなさい。それによって、悪い者の放つ火の矢をことごとく消すことができるのです。6:17 また、救いを兜としてかぶり、霊の剣、すなわち神の言葉を取りなさい。6:18 どのような時にも、“霊”に助けられて祈り、願い求め、すべての聖なる者たちのために、絶えず目を覚まして根気よく祈り続けなさい。6:19 また、わたしが適切な言葉を用いて話し、福音の神秘を大胆に示すことができるように、わたしのためにも祈ってください。6:20 わたしはこの福音の使者として鎖につながれていますが、それでも、語るべきことは大胆に話せるように、祈ってください。 |

GOSPEL LESSON: Mark 7:14–23 14[Jesus] called the people to him again and said to them, “Hear me, all of you, and understand: 15 There is nothing outside a person that by going into him can defile him, but the things that come out of a person are what defile him.” 17And when he had entered the house and left the people, his disciples asked him about the parable. 18And he said to them, “Then are you also without understanding? Do you not see that whatever goes into a person from outside cannot defile him, 19 since it enters not his heart but his stomach, and is expelled?” (Thus he declared all foods clean.) 20And he said, “What comes out of a person is what defiles him. 21 For from within, out of the heart of man, come evil thoughts, sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery, 22 coveting, wickedness, deceit, sensuality, envy, slander, pride, foolishness. 23 All these evil things come from within, and they defile a person.” |
マルコ7:14–23 7:14 それから、イエスは再び群衆を呼び寄せて言われた。「皆、わたしの言うことを聞いて悟りなさい。 7:15 外から人の体に入るもので人を汚すことができるものは何もなく、人の中から出て来るものが、人を汚すのである。《7:16 ＊聞く耳のある者は聞きなさい。7:17 イエスが群衆と別れて家に入られると、弟子たちはこのたとえについて尋ねた。7:18 イエスは言われた。「あなたがたも、そんなに物分かりが悪いのか。すべて外から人の体に入るものは、人を汚すことができないことが分からないのか。7:19 それは人の心の中に入るのではなく、腹の中に入り、そして外に出される。こうして、すべての食べ物は清められる。《7:20 更に、次のように言われた。「人から出て来るものこそ、人を汚す。7:21 中から、つまり人間の心から、悪い思いが出て来るからである。みだらな行い、盗み、殺意、 7:22 姦淫、貪欲、悪意、詐欺、好色、ねたみ、悪口、傲慢、無分別など、7:23 これらの悪はみな中から出て来て、人を汚すのである。《 |
We need protection. プロテクションは必要です。 The world is dangerous. この世は危ないからです。 There are thieves so we lock our doors. 泥棒がいるので、ドーアのカギをかきます。 The summer sun is hot so we wear a hat and sun screen. 沖縄の夏の太陽は強いので帽子や日焼け止めを身につけます。 There are the police, the military, and the fire department. 警察を初め、自衛隊や消防士もいます。 The traffic laws protect us from reckless drivers. 交通ルールは私達を危険な運転手から守ります。 Even the Ten Commandments protect us. 十戒も私達を守ります。 I read a book by Martin Luther, where he said that the Commandment “Do not kill” was there so that others would not hurt or harm me. マルチンルターの本を読みました。それに、「殺してはいけない《という戒めは、他の人が私に害や痛みをしないように書かれています。 Not only that I do not steal, but the Commandment tells others not to steal from me. また、私が他の人の物を盗まないようにだけではなくて、他の人が私の物をぬすまないようにと。 And we pray for God’s protection, “Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil.”私達は神様の守りの為に祈ります、「試み会わせず、悪より救い出したまえ《と。
There are many evils, 多くの悪があります。like bad people, disease, war, natural disasters, and the like. 例えば、悪い人間、病気、戦争、自然の災いなどです。 We pray for protection from these things. このようなものから守りがありますように祈ります。 St. Paul himself knew about all of these distressful things. 聖パウロは、自分自身でこのようなひどいものを知りました。 When he wrote the letter to the Church in Ephesus he was a prisoner. このエフェソの教会への手紙を書く時、自分は牢屋(ろうや)に入られていました。 He calls himself “an ambassador in chains,” 6:20. 自分の事でこのように書きました、「6:20 私はこの福音の使者として鎖につながれています《と。And yet he knew that there were more vicious things to worry about. それなのに、それより心配させる多くのもっとひどいものがあると分かりました。 There was the devil. 悪魔がいます。 And so he wrote Ephesians 6:10–13. それでエフェソ6:10-13を書きました。

「6:10 最後に言う。主に依り頼み(よ たの)、その偉大な力によって強くなりなさい。11 悪魔の策略(さくりゃく)に対抗(たいこう)して立つことができるように、神の武具を身に着けなさい。12 私達の戦いは、血肉を相手にするものではなく、支配と権威(けんい)、暗闇(くらやみ)の世界の支配者、天にいる悪の諸霊(しょれい)を相手にするものなのです。13 だから、邪悪(じゃあく)な日によく抵抗(ていこう)し、すべてを成し遂(と)げて、しっかりと立つことができるように、神の武具を身に着けなさい。《
The armor of God includes: この神の武器には： the belt of truth, 真理を帯、 breastplate of righteousness, 正義を胸当、 shoes for your feet having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace, 平和の福音を告げる準備の履物、 the shield of faith, 信仰を盾、 the helmet of salvation, 救いの兜、 and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God, そして、神の言葉である霊の剣があります。
This armor protects our faith. この武器は私達の信仰を守ります。 We are not fighting. 私達は戦っていません。 God protects us from the devil. 神様は、私達を悪魔から守って下さいます。
At the time of Jesus, the Jews thought they could protect their faith by keeping a lot of regulations. イエス様の時代に、ユダヤ人達は、信仰を守る為に多くの規定を守る方法であると思いました。 One of those regulations forbid certain foods that were not kosher. 一つの規定は、ある食べ物を食べてはいけない事でした。
Jesus told his disciples that all food was okay to eat. イエス様はすべての食べ物が食べても良いと弟子達に教えました。 It is not what we take into our bodies that make us sinful, but what comes out of our hearts. 私達を罪人にするのは、体に入って来る物ではなくて、心から出て行くものです。 Jesus said it this way, Mark 7:20-23, このように言われました、マルコ7:20-23。
20And he said, “What comes out of a person is what defiles him. 21 For from within, out of the heart of man, come evil thoughts, sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery, 22 coveting, wickedness, deceit, sensuality, envy, slander, pride, foolishness. 23 All these evil things come from within, and they defile a person.”
「7:20 更に、次のように言われた。「人から出て来るものこそ、人を汚す。7:21 中から、つまり人間の心から、悪い思いが出て来るからである。みだらな行い、盗み(ぬすみ)、殺意(さつい)、7:22 姦淫(かんいん)、貪欲(どんよく)、悪意(あくい)、詐欺(さぎ)、好色(こうしょく)、ねたみ、悪口(あっこう)、傲慢(ごうまん)、無分別(むふんべつ)など、7:23 これらの悪はみな中から出て来て、人を汚すのである。《
So, what needs to be protected is our heart, our mind, the source of all evil. それで、守るべきなのは、すべての悪の源である私達の心です、私達の思いです。 And this is when the Armor of God that St. Paul speaks of becomes important. この時聖パウロが話す神の武器が大切です。
We look to Jesus for protection. 守りの為に私達はイエス様に見ます。 When Jesus fought the devil for us, he had no weapon. イエス様は、私達の為に悪魔と戦った時、イエス様にはどの武器にもありませんでした。 There was no sword in his hands, rather there were nails. 手には剣がなかったのは、釘が有ったからです。 There was no armor and even his clothes were taken by the soldiers. 武器がない事の上に、自分の洋朊でさえも兵士に取られました。 It seemed that even his Father had abandoned him. 父なる神様も彼を見捨てたようでした。 But in this wonderful way, he forgave our sin. しかし、このような驚くべきな方法で、イエス様は私達の罪を赦しました。 The devil’s weapon is our sin. 悪魔の武器は私達の罪です。 And so Jesus took away from the devil the weapon of sin that could defeat us. 私達を殺す事が出来る罪の武器が悪魔から取りました。 Sin and doubt could defeat us into giving up the fight. 罪や疑いがあれば、私達はその戦いにあきらめるかもしれません。
Jesus won that fight. イエス様はその戦いを勝ちました。 He arose from the dead on the third day. ３日目に甦りました。 He was victorious. イエス様は勝利者でした。 To protect us, he promised to be with us always, even to the end of the world. 私達を守る為に、いつまでも、世の終わりまでに、私達と共にいるように約束しました。 That is our sure protection. それは私達の確かなプロテクションです。
