God gave his only Son to die on the cross to forgive us our sin because he loves us.

In confirmation class I have learned a lot! Basically about God and his disciples, the Ten Commandments, what they mean, etc. The thing I like most are some of the Bible verses. Only some. For instance, Psalm 27:1-3
"The Lord is my light and my salvation; Whom shall I fear?
The Lord is the strength of my life; Of whom shall I be afraid?
When the wicked came against me to eat up my flesh,
My enemies and foes, They stumbled and fell.
Though an army may encamp against me, my heart shall not fear;
Though war should rise against me, In this I will be confident."
This verse means a lot to me! To me it means I shall not fear or be afraid because the Lord is always with me! If they hurt me they'll only hurt the outside, not the inside, because my heart will not be harmed! It also means I shall not fear because God is here! He will protect me! He is my light. He is in me to guide me, beside me to hold me in his heart forever!

Dalas Miller
I am very proud to be a Christian and a member of the Lutheran Church. My parents have brought me up in the Christian community. I have never known what it is to be without Jesus in my heart and the promise of salvation in my life. I am very thankful to them for that.
I started acolyting at the age of 8. I was very proud to be a part of the service. I took my first Communion that year too. I came to understand how important it was to grow in the Church and participate in the sacraments.
I have looked forward to this day. Going through confirmation has prepared me to become an adult in the Lutheran Church. I am now responsible for my faith. I am very grateful to my family, Pastor Braswell, Chaplain Savage, Pastor Nearhood, and other adults in my life that have guided me and brought me to this point. I will continue to seek the guidance of others as I grow stronger in my faith.

In confirmation class I learned that the shortest verse is John 11:35, "Jesus wept." I like John 3:16, "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." I like this verse because it tells us how much God loves us. The verse shows that God would give the things dearest to Him because He loves us so much.

2 Corinthians 5:17
When I had not yet known Jesus, the weak spots, guilt, inferiority complex, etc that were in me bothered me and I wanted to change myself. But after coming to know Christ I also knew this Bible passage, I knew that in faith, Jesus does for me what I cannot do for myself, and I knew that he changes me. Today, as I look forward to my baptism, my old self is thrown away, and I want to walk the life as a reborn, new self.

I like this passage very much because, Jesus talked a lot to us about love. My name is "Aisa," which means "Love (Ai) Blooms (Sa)." God showers us with a lot of love. I want to be a person who makes love blossom for everyone.

堅信礼のクラスで私は沢山学びました。基本的には、神様、弟子達、十戒、など。
それでそれらがどんな意味をもつかなど。 私の好きな聖書個所は、たとえば、詩編27編１節から３節「主はわたしの光、わたしの救だ、わたしはだれを恐れよう。
主はわたしの命のとりでだ。わたしはだれをおじ恐れよう。
わたしのあだ、わたしの敵である悪を行う者どもが、襲ってきて、
わたしをそしり､わたしを攻めるとき、彼らはつまずき倒れるであろう。
たとい軍勢が陣営を張って、わたしを攻めても、
わたしの心は恐れない。たといいくさが起って、わたしを攻めても、なおわたしはみずから頼むところがある。」
この個所は私にとって大切です。
なぜなら主はいつも私と共にいて下さるので私は恐れたり怖がったりしなくてもよいのです。 もし私を傷付けてもそれは外見上だけで、心の中ではない。なぜなら私の心は傷つかないから。また神様がここにおられるので恐れなくてもよいということです。 神様は私を守って下さいます。神様は私の光です。神様は私の中にいて導いてくださり、みこころの中に私を永遠に抱いてくださいます。*****

私はクリスチャンであること、またルーテル教会の会員であることを誇りに思います。
私の両親は私をクリスチャンのコミュニティの中で育ててくれます。私は心の中にイエス様なしの生活や私の人生の救いの約束なしの生活をまったく考えられません。私はこの事を本当に感謝しています。私は八歳の時からアコライトとして奉仕しています。
礼拝の中でその一部分を担えるのはとても嬉しいです。 私は最初の聖餐をこの年に受けました。 私はサクラメントを受け教会の中で成長することがいかに重要であるかに気付きました。 私は今日の日を心待ちにしていました。堅信礼の準備をとうしてルーテル教会の中で大人として生きて行く準備が整いました。
今自分の信仰に責任があります。 私は私の家族に、ブラスウエル牧師、従軍牧師 サベージ師、ニアフッド牧師、そしてその他の方々に、ここまで私を導いてくださっつたことに感謝しています。私はこれからの信仰生活の成長においても他の方々の導きを求めていくでしょう。*****

堅信礼のクラスで一番短い聖書個所がヨハネ１１章
35節の「イエスは涙を流された」であることを学びました。またヨハネ３章１６節も好きです。「 神は、その独り子をお与えになったほどに、世を愛された。独り子を信じる者が一人も滅びないで、永遠の命を得るためである。」私がこの個所の好きな理由は、神様がどれだけ私たちを愛しておられるかを教えてくれるからです。この個所は神様が愛するものにいろいろなものを与えて下さると言います。なぜなら私たちを大変愛してくださるからです。

「だれでもキリストのうちにあるなら その人は新しく造られた者です。古いものは過ぎ去って、すべてが新しくなりました。」
第２コリント５：１７（新改訳聖書）
私はイエス様のことをまだ知らなかった時、自分の中にある弱点・罪意識・劣等感などに悩まれ、それを自分自身で変えようと思っていました。しかし、イエス様を知ってこのみことばを知った時、信仰によって、イエス様は私のできないことも私に代わってして下さり、そして私を変えて下さる事を知りました。今日、洗礼式を迎えるにあたって、古い自分を捨て去り、生まれ変わった新しい自分としてこれからの人生を歩んでいこうと思います。

私はこのみことばが大好きです。なぜなら、イエス様は愛について私達にたくさん語って下さいました。私の名前は「愛咲」といい、「愛」が「咲く」と言う意味です。イエス様は私達にたくさんの愛を注いで下さいます。私もみんなに愛を咲かせる事ができる人になりたいです。

私は教会が大好きです。イエス様のことをたくさん勉強できるし、イエス様と静かにお話ができるところだからです。これからも教会に通って、イエス様といつもいっしょにくらし、神様（イエス様）のことを知らないお友達にも神様のすばらしいことをお話していきたいです。
