【Pastor's Greeting】
Hello. I'm Pastor Curtis Van Hulla.
I'm from America, but I've been in Japan almost 30 years. I can comfortably converse in Japanese so don't be afraid to talk to me. Of course, I'm always glad to speak English too!
Before I came to Japan, I worked in the accounting department of a company in California as well as working as a swimming coach. Though I had opportunities to tell others about Jesus, I wanted to do more. I decided to get some training as a missionary and I wanted to go to a county where there were few Christians. God led me to come to Japan.
I met my wife Shizue at a prayer meeting in Japan at a church I was serving in. We married two years later and we pastor the church together.
The name of our church, "Shalom," means peace in Hebrew. Come visit us. Where God's love and peace is, there is rest. You are welcome to come to any meeting. We're looking forward to see you.
