Last week I read an article in the “Lutheran Forum” magazine entitled, “Proclaiming the Resurrection” (by Phillip Max Johnson, Lutheran Forum, Spring 2007, Pg.51f). 先週ルーテル・フォルムの雑誌に「復活を述べ伝えて」と言う記事を読みました。 The writer gave four suggestions of what to proclaim at Easter. 記事を書く人は復活祭で四つの事を述べ伝えるように勧めました。 I am going to paraphrase his four points and then expand on them, like four short sermons.それを要約(ようやく)し、拡大したいと思います、四つの短い説教のようです。
First. At Easter, proclaim the resurrection of the body. 先ず復活祭では、体の甦りを述べ伝える事です。 Jesus was not a spirit or ghost. イエス様は霊や幽霊ではありませんでした。 He seemed to be able to go through locked doors, but he had a body that could be seen and felt. 閉じられたドアを通る事が出来ましたが、実に目で見える形で、手で触れる事の出来る体を持ちました。 The wounds were real.その体の傷は本当の物でした。 He told Thomas to touch him to make sure. 確認する為にトマスに御自分の体を触るように言われました。 He was hungry and ate and drank with the disciples (Luke 24:41, 42; Acts 10:41). イエス様はお腹が空いて、弟子達と一緒に食べたり飲んだりしました(ルカ24:41, 42; 使徒10:41)。 He had a real, physical, solid body. 本当の物質的な固体(こたい)のしっかりした体でした。 We have the same real, physical, solid bodies. 私達にも同じ本当の物質的な固体(こたい)のしっかりした体です。 These are the bodies that God loves and for whom Jesus died to save. 神様は私達の体を愛して、この体を救う為にイエス様が死んで下さいました。 And that is why we say and confess in the Apostles Creed, “I believe in the resurrection of the body and the life everlasting. Amen.” それで使徒信条にこのように告白して言います：「体の甦り、永遠の命を信じる。アーメン。」
Second. At Easter, proclaim the death of Jesus. 第二．復活祭で、イエス様の死を述べ伝える事です。 The birth, life, death, resurrection, and ascension are a package. イエス様の降誕、生涯、死、復活、と昇天は一つのセットです。 Jesus was born in order to die on the cross. イエス様は十字架上で死ぬ為に生まれました。 He died in order to rise. 復活する為に死にました。 He came down at Christmas in order to ascend again to heaven. 昇天する為にクリスマスの時、天からこの世に下りました。 Some Christians are embarrassed about the cross. あるキリスト信者達にとっては、十字架が恥ずかしいです。 They do not like to see a crucifix, a cross with the body of Jesus on it. イエス様の像がある十字架の飾りが嫌いです。 They like the empty, Easter cross. 空っぽのイースターの十字架が好きです。 We should be horrified to see a crucifix, we should be scared to see what our sins have done, and we should grieve when we are reminded that Jesus died. 実は、イエス様の像がついている十字架を見る時、私達は恐(おそ)れるべきです、私達の罪の結果を見るとき、私達が恐(こわ)がるべきです、イエス様が死んだと思い出す時、悲(かな)しくなるべきです。 At Easter we celebrate that Christ overcame death and we decorate the cross with flowers. イースターになりますと、キリストが死をうち勝ったことをお祝いして、十字架に花を飾ります。 In the Holy Communion, when we receive the Body and Blood of our Savior, we do so in remembrance of his death. 聖餐式の時、救い主の体と血を頂く時、イエス様の死を記念します。 We remember that it was given and shed for us and for all people for the forgiveness of sin. 私達と多くの人々の罪を赦す為に血を流されていた事をおぼえます。On that first Easter Jesus showed the disciples the wounds in his hands and feet and side. その最初のイースター、イエス様は弟子達に御自分の手と足と脇の傷を見せました。 Forty days later at his ascension the wounds would have started to heal, but ugly scars would have started to form. ４０日後、昇天した時、その傷が治り始まるでしょうが、醜い傷跡が残ります。 When Christ returns, he will show us his scars again. この世に戻る時、キリストは再び私達にその傷跡を見せて下さいます。 As the Book of Revelation tells us, he remains forever the Lamb of God who had been slain (Rev. 5:6). ヨハネの黙示録５章が教えるように、キリストはいつまでも「屠(ほふ)られた神の小羊」です（黙5:6）。
Third. At Easter, proclaim the faith, and do not assume that everyone in the congregation has faith. 第三．復活祭で、信仰を述べ伝える事です、教会の会衆の皆には信仰があると思わない事です。 Few people in the church are blatant, hostile, articulate atheists. 教会に来る人の中のいく人かは、騒々(そうぞう)しく、言い争(あらそ)う無神論者がいるかもしれません。 But like Thomas, people have doubts and are on various levels of belief and unbelief. しかしトマスのように、疑いを持って、段階(だんかい)が違う信仰と不信仰を持っている人がいます。There is incomprehension, misunderstanding, pride, and stubbornness. 理解が出来ない事、誤解(ごかい)、傲慢(ごうまん)、頑固(がんこ)があります。 There is fear that we would have to change our lifestyle, worry that our sins are so great that we cannot change our lifestyle, worry about sickness, death, and the troubles of life. 自分の生活を変える恐れがあり、罪が大きくて自分の人生を変える事が出来ないと言う恐れがあり、病気と死と人生の問題に対する心配があります。 Jesus proclaimed peace, “Shalom,” he said. イエス様は平和を告げました、「シャローム」と告げました。 Today also he proclaims “Shalom” to broken lives and broken hearts and broken minds and broken faith. 今日も、壊れた人生と壊れた心と、壊れた考え方と壊れた信仰にも「シャローム」と告げます。 During Easter, we preach life in the face of death. イースターの時、死に直面しても命を説教します。 We proclaim the faith not just because we believe, but in order that we may believe. 信仰を告げるのは、私達が信じるからだけではなくて、私達が信じる事が出来るように告げます。 As the conclusion to John Chapter 20 says, “Jesus did many other miraculous signs in the presence of his disciples, which are not recorded in this book. But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name” (John 20:30-31). ヨハネ２０章の最後の結論に書かれたようです：「このほかにも、イエスは弟子達の前で、多くのしるしをなさったが、それはこの書物に書かれていない。 これらの事が書かれたのは、あなたがたが、イエスは神の子メシアであると信じるためであり、また、信じてイエスの名により命を受けるためである」（ヨハネ20:30-31）。
And Fourth. At Easter, proclaim the faith with confidence. そして第四．復活祭で、確信を持って信仰を述べ伝える事です。 The Word of God overcomes all incomprehension. 神様の御言葉は、すべての理解する事が出来ない事を越えます。 There are mysteries: 神秘があります： How can the dead arise? どうして死んだ人が甦られるでしょうか。 How can Jesus pass through locked doors with a physical body? どうやってイエス様が物質的な体を持って鍵が掛けているドアを通る事が出来るでしょうか。 How can his death forgive my sin? どのようにイエス様の死が私の罪を赦す事が出来るでしょうか。 How can his death and resurrection ensure my death and resurrection? 何故彼の死と復活が私の死と復活を保証(ほしょう)するでしょうか。How has the Holy Spirit created faith in my heart? どのようにして聖霊が私の心の中で信仰を造ったでしょうか。 How has the Holy Spirit given love and joy in my heart? どのようにして聖霊が私の心の中で愛と喜びを造ったでしょうか。 But one thing is not a mystery. 一つの事は神秘ではありません。 God’s love is not a hidden. 神様の愛は隠されていません。 Therefore we proclaim the Easter Good News with confidence and faith and with joy and peace. それで、確信と信仰と喜びと平和を持って、私達はイースターの良い知らせを述べ伝えます。 Christ is risen! He is risen indeed! キリストは復活しました。本当に復活しました。
